DLR_School_Lab for Neustrelitz and Dresden

Below is an interesting note in english published in the December 2011 issue of the "DLR MAGAZINE", highlighting the opening of a new laboratory of a network of laboratories aimed at educating high school students.

A new DLR School laboratory has been established in Neustrelitz. This DLR_School_Labs team has developed age-appropriate experiments, primarily aimed at bringing children and teenagers closer to research projects being carried out at DLR site in Neustrelitz. The plan is to include tests involving data acquisition, electromagnetic waves and satellite navigation. In addition, there will be experiments concerning the impact of atmospheric  pollution on sunlight.

While school groups are invited to use the DLR_School_Labs facilities for free, the same is true of their teachers , who are also welcome to participate in workshops to find out about the current status of research.

The opening of the DLR_School_Lab in Neustrelitz means that there are now nine DLR School laboratories across Germany. The tenth DLR_School_Lab will be set up in Dresden. There, students will be able to tackle questions concerning the key DLR subjects of energy and traffic from the end of 2012. The Dresden school laboratory is a joint project involving the Technical University (TU), the city and DLR. The DLR_School_ Lab TU Dresden is located in the Technical Collections (Technische Sammlungen) in the centre of the state capital of Saxony. Matters, such as how fuel-cell-driven cars of the future will operate or how solar electricity will reach homes, will be demonstrated and considered in the experiments conducted.

Comentário: Não conhecia essa rede de laboratórios do DLR direcionados a educação de estudantes do ensino médio e também para professores. Como me foi informado que o nosso blog é visitado por alguns profissionais ligados ao DLR, aproveito para parabenizar a agência espacial alemã por essa grande iniciativa. Além disso, como brasileiro, insatisfeito com a falta de atitude do governo e da Agência Espacial Brasileira (AEB) em nosso país nessa área, e em nome das boas relações de 40 anos entre o DLR/AEB/DCTA/IAE solicito por gentileza que a direção do Centro Aeroespacial Alemão apresente uma proposta a AEB para que alunos e professores brasileiros tenham acesso a essa magnífica iniciativa alemã. Vocês realmente estão antenados com o futuro e mesmo não acreditando ter ainda mais de 15 anos de vida, quero antes de partir tentar colaborar para que possamos construir uma melhor sociedade em minha pátria, já que falta visão e atitude naqueles que infelizmente detém o poder de mudar isso. Espero que a minha solicitação não só chegue à direção do DLR, mas também que seja atendida e aceita com seriedade pelas pessoas que dizem gerenciar o Programa Espacial Brasileiro.
