The MONTENEGRO Dream
It is with pleasure that we present to you exclusively the first animation video of the micro-launcher Montenegro, a national project under development by the space startup Acrux Aerospace Technologies Ltd.
MONTENEGRO Marshal was the main officer and scientist responsible for the implementation of first Aerospace focused institutions in Brazil. Acrux Aerospace Technologies, as a proud Brazilian NewSpace startup, honor this brilliant officer with our homonym project of fastest and most competitive Brazilian Satellite Micro Launcher.
Video: Acrux Aerospace Technologies Ltd.
The MONTENEGRO MK-II Micro Launch Vehicle is based on two tandem VSB30 sounding rocket S30 SRM, with an upgraded lighter composite case, and two possible control systems for 2nd stage, keeping secondary fluid injection on nozzle, or implement slight higher efficiency deployable grid fins. The upper stage is based on 90% hydrogen peroxide and doped Jet-A hypergolic pair, pressurized by a BLDC propellant pump, and a 5kN additive manufactured engine. The vehicle control will apply Cold Gas RCS and GNC unit from Brazilian companies, as telemetry and flight termination system. This upper stage architecture will came from technology to be flight proved on LRE powered sounding rocket, actually in development by Acrux team. This combination of technology will make feasible to develop a low-cost and high efficient stage, multi re-ignition capable, and control over thrust curve at least 40%, with a smooth research and development pathway.
