China reveals plans to launch rockets into space to divert asteroids

As seen in sci-fi movies like "Deep Impact" (1998) or "Armageddon" (1998), China is working on a plan to deflect a celestial body using rockets. The Chinese aren't the only ones planning to save the Earth from a catastrophic collision, but the US also has its own project (named HAMMER) to do the same.

Unlike the movies, no nuclear weapons should be used in these solutions and the deviation will only occur by kinetic collision.
