Walter D. González, a
scientist for the Brazil’s National Institute for Space Research (INPE), takes
office as member of the National Academy of Sciences of Peru, in Lima, on
Thursday (6/28). During the ceremony, to take place at the auditorium of the
Geophysical Institute of Peru, the researcher will discuss some outcomes of his
studies on the Sun-Earth interaction.
Bs in Physics for the University of Engineering of
Peru, Walter D. González is MSc in Space Physics for INPE and PhD in
Physics for the University of California. He was a visiting professor in
research institutions and universities of Germany, England, Italy, Spain and
Japan. He has been acting in Space Geophysics Department of INPE since 1969
and, since 2000, as NASA consultant on Heliophysics.
Professor of Space Physics in graduate courses of INPE,
Walter D. González is responsible for 236 papers and 12 book chapters on
physical space, and two publications by the American Geophysical Union of the
United States.
